The short version. We collect the information we need to build and look after your website and marketing, and nothing we don't. We never sell your information. If you'd rather we didn't message you, reply STOP on WhatsApp or email us, and that's the end of it.
The long version is below, because the law requires us to be specific — and because you deserve to know exactly what happens to your information.
This is the privacy notice of ZEEKY (PTY) LTD ("Zeeky", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in the Republic of South Africa under registration number 2026/577853/07.
We are a marketing and web design business serving small businesses in South Africa. We operate as a service-area business and do not publish a physical trading address. You can reach us at:
This policy complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). In this policy, "process" means to collect, store, use, share or otherwise handle information.
We have appointed an Information Officer who is responsible for making sure this policy is followed and for dealing with any questions or requests about your personal information.
Before contacting a business for the first time, we may review publicly available business information — such as a Google Business Profile, a public business listing or a public website — to understand how that business currently appears online. We use this only to prepare a relevant approach, and only in relation to businesses, not private individuals.
We do not collect special personal information as defined in POPIA — such as information about your race, health, religious or political beliefs, sex life, trade union membership, or criminal history. Please do not send us such information.
| Why | Lawful basis under POPIA |
|---|---|
| To quote for, build and maintain your website and marketing | Necessary to perform our contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering into one |
| To communicate with you about your project or account | Performance of our contract |
| To invoice you and collect payment | Performance of our contract, and our legal obligations |
| To send you marketing messages, tips and offers | Your consent — which you may withdraw at any time (see section 6) |
| To keep accounting and tax records | Legal obligation |
| To improve our services and keep our systems secure | Our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights |
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., as a main way of talking to our clients. Because this is central to how we work, we want to be specific about it.
We will only send you marketing messages — by WhatsApp, email or SMS — if you have given us clear, active permission. That might be by tapping a button in a WhatsApp conversation, ticking a box on a form, or telling us directly during a call or meeting. We keep a record of when and how that permission was given.
You can withdraw your consent at any time, and it costs you nothing. Reply STOP on WhatsApp, click unsubscribe in an email, or email michelle@zeeky.co.za. Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing we did before you withdrew it.
We do not sell your personal information, ever. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as they need it:
| Who | Why | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Platforms (WhatsApp & Pixel) | Messaging; advertising measurement | Your number, profile name, message content; website activity via the Meta Pixel |
| Our hosting provider | Servers and storage | All data we hold, stored securely |
| Business listings, advertising, analytics | Website usage data; business listing information | |
| Our accounting system | Invoicing and records | Name, contact and billing details |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Note for the future. If we appoint franchisees or partners in your area, Zeeky remains the responsible party for your information. Any such partner may only handle it under a written agreement that holds them to this policy.
Some of our service providers — including Meta and Google — process information outside South Africa, including in the United States. POPIA permits this where the recipient is subject to laws or binding agreements providing an adequate level of protection. We rely on the contractual terms these providers offer to their customers, which impose data-protection obligations on them.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that puts your information at risk, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Under POPIA you have the right to:
Email michelle@zeeky.co.za to exercise any of these. We will respond within a reasonable time and, where the law sets one, within the required period. We may first need to verify your identity, to make sure we're not giving your information to someone else.
To have your personal information deleted, email michelle@zeeky.co.za with the subject line "Delete my data", from the email address you deal with us on, or message us on WhatsApp from your number.
We will confirm your identity, delete what we are not legally required to keep, and confirm to you once it is done. We must retain invoices and accounting records for 5 years under tax law, and we keep a minimal record that you asked to be removed so that we don't contact you again by mistake.
zeeky.co.za uses cookies and similar technology to make the site work, to understand how it is used, and to measure our advertising. Specifically, we use:
Both run for every visitor. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then not work as intended.
Our services are sold to businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information about anyone under 18. If you believe we have, please tell us and we will delete it.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please tell us first — email michelle@zeeky.co.za and we will try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the regulator at any time:
We review this policy regularly and will update it when our services or the law change. The version number and date at the top will tell you when it last changed. Material changes will be brought to your attention.
